Fritz 12 Question

Before I try googling this I'll ask  here: When I turn F12 on Full Analysis all that shows up is the Bd, I wanna see its ongoing analysis and maybe 1 or 2 other windows. How do I get them back, I have no idea how they got turned off, I haven't used F12 in awhile. THANKS in advance for any help here!

A brutal method that seems to work is to reset everything: View - Factory settings. I hope somebody comes up with something that gives more detailed control.

NO that only works in the home page but thankx anyway. I've asked ChessBase for help and instead of knowing the answer they asked me to send them an image of what I'm seeing so I did, but you'd think THEY would know the answer right away.

Of course if I wasn't lazy I could just uninstall and reinstall the program but that is a piss poor way to fix something that probably(?) isn't broken, I'm sure there is some keyboard shortcut to fix this.

I would think so too, but in the mean time; have you tried what I sugested? Start the program and click on View - Factory settings before you do anything else. I was then asked if I wanted to delete the current settings, answered Yes and when starting the Full Analysis again the relevant windows/panes had returned.

Still doesn't work, although I gotta admit what I did previously was revert to default window (panes) not the factory settings which I didn't notice. Thanks for the interest though, I'll probably just reinstall the dam program. BTW how did you make the Full Analysis windows disappear (since you said they returned)

I also can't make the application menu appear in the full analysis window, when I click on it I "stop" the analysis even though I'm not clicking on the stop button. So once again it maybe my screwed up PC at fault, I have to reload Windows several times a year now if I want it to work correctly on a 24/7 basis.

Under the View tab have you got "main engine window" ticked?

NimzoRoy

YES - I unclicked it for the hell of it and that didn't help either.

I clicked the X (Close) in the upper right corner of all the panes/windows to get into the same situation as you with only a big board. I was then unable to get the panes back until I clicked "Factory Settings". This might maybe be a bug they have fixed (check if there is an update) because in what I belived was the same interface (sold with one of the other engines CB offers, which means it came out after the first Frits12 ) the panes seems impossible to remove in Full analysis. It is the same in Fritz13, clicking the X does not remove the panes in Full analysis. Right clicking and choosing "Close" will in Fritz13 though. Then "Factory Settings" restores everything again.

Thanks Sadler, I haven't updated F12 yet, so I will try that. Their tech support told me to revert back to factory settings, which doesn't work, so they don't seem to know as much as you do!

Sadler
Heard that one before, thank you (and good luck, people have had mixed experiences with CB updates through the years, if one shall believe different forums on the net...).

Sadler I did an update which apparently inc 24 updates (or went from version 1 to 24 who knows) and anyway I finally got the dam windows back in "Full Analysis" mode. This also seemed to be a complete reinstall of the program.  THANKS!

Glad to hear. Thank you for sharing.

I have Fritz 13 and it always checks for updates when I run it.  Perhaps 12 does not do this.  That might be the reason you didn't receive many replies.
