I was just commenting on the sandwich comparison. Personally, I like solving good puzzles. As for ideas, I don't know if there's such a thing as having our own ideas in a game like chess. I'm taking a guess here (I'm not very knowledgeable about the sport, I admit): I think it's all been done before, every move, every variation, just like writing a novel or a screen play.
