If you are white,which one do you prefer, Nc3 or Bd2?

I'd prefer Nc3 pretty much anytime.

Bd2 is met by 7...Bxd2+ 8.Nbd2 d5 where Black pretty much equalizes on the spot, leading to deadly even middlegame. With Nc3 you at least create an imbalance, leading to a position where you can at least try to push for an advantage.

Nbd2 might be better way to sacrifice pawn that Nc3.

After 7.Nc3 white is (objectively speaking) struggling to equalize.

Something at d2 (Queen excluded!) is a better choice.

Since 7.Bd2 gives Black equality in 3 different ways (7...Nxe4, 7...Bxd2+ 8.Nxd2 Nxe4 and 7...Bxd2+ 8.Nxd2 d5) the little-played 7.Nbd2 is worth trying, although white should not expect much.

He just got done saying 7. Nc3 struggles to equalize !
