I think referring to books is not what to do, if you are up for a correspondence game, then you must have full thrust in your chess-skills, and that includes theory aswell for me, Also taking notes is odd, what i'd do is use the chessnotation, with questionmarks and exclamationmarks, no need to write things down i think, since you'll memorize the game as you will be in touch with it for on average 14days in a chess.com correspondence game, i think the mainthing is to think for atleast a minute...and try to use all your skills possible, since there's not too much time-pressure
Good luck with the Online chess mate :-)
I started my first correspondance games urged by my chess trainer.
So I started wondering, what should I do to make the most out of my games. Bassicaly my idea is to record my thoughts during a game in a notebook, and afterwards when the game is over to analyze and correct them. Is this method any good? And how should I refer to books about openings during the game?
