Sometimes I'll not say GG bc I raced off to the review screen to see if they have a habit of cheating. But I try to give the benefit of the doubt and say GG before I race off in a fury. ![]()
"Good game"
Meh, I would say good game, and then if they have ridiculous stats report after the fact. I think that's what we're supposed to do.
Wow @exceptionalfork, your last game was a thrill to watch. And your opponent @AAAAARON a good sport.
Thanks ![]()
I always say good game (sometimes good game, well played if I lose) or something like that when my game finishes, and yeah, very few people say it back. But I enjoy the occasional people I get who actually do say it back.
In one of my last games, I was about to say good game when I saw that my opponent called me a cheater. He literally called me a cheater because of a move I played that wasn't even good.
Can confirm, had people throw tantrums because they drew rather than got a one sided victory.
Someone once messaged me to call me 'weak and pathetic' because I had him backed into a corner with multiple queens while he was down to a lone king. Alas I blundered one in a foolish burst of aggression and only drew
Oh, sorry to hear that.
I've never understood why people feel the urge to call their opponent weak or something like that after the game. Very strange in my opinion...
About 1% of people say this back.
I usually say it back ![]()
I've noticed that players say "good game" less in rated chess and also seems to be less the shorter the time control is. If you invest into something like a 30 min game, then your opponent might be more likely to respond with a "good game", but if you try this in 1 min bullet, they are already halfway done with their next game by the time you would expect a reply ![]()
Thank you both for a great show and some instructive chess
