I currently use a Logitech g502 x plus for chess. Is it a good mouse for it?

depends. if you want to win games, you should splurge on a mouse that's at least $300, and make sure it has customizable rgb. if you want to lose games, your current mouse should be fine.

I believe the customizable RGB is one of the most crucial parts of a mouse. WIthout it, your performance is decreased significantly. Hope this helps with your considerations.

G502 X Plus might be overkill for chess. It's certainly more than capable of handling the demands of the game, especially for faster time controls.
