Goodbye, chess.com.

Several circumstances have lead me to believe that being a member of this website is no longer desirable.

The lack of features offered to basic members, along with the stupidity of many people here, made me realize having this account is not only useless but also distracting.

The level of the forums is extremely poor. The same threads are repeated again and again. The same questions with obvious answers are asked every day.

Yes, I admit having behaved in an inappropriate way many times. To me, those stupid questions are provocative.

Now I realize I have to learn to control myself and stop annoying others. Impolite people don't achieve anything in their lives. In order to become a better person overall, I must stop posting nonsense in the forums.

And to avoid the temptation, I'm going to stop logging in. Whenever I log in, just do the 5 tactics (see lack of content for basic members) I feel the necessity to go the forums section. Maybe I'll delete the account too, if I feel the need to do so.

This is my first step towards being a better person. I understand some of you, who were my friends not much time ago, will not like my decision. I only ask you to respect it.

I hope my case helps other people stop behaving crazily in the forums. This is my last post in these forums, and my last day logged in. But remember I would be proud if some of you, overcoming the difficulties, managed to follow me.

Goodbye.

Don't let the door hit you on the way out!

The thing about these good bye forums is that when they close their account all their content on the site disappears.

Crazychessplaya

That's not so.

Unless they were muted when they closes their own accounts, their content remains.  When Chess.com closes their account their conent disappears by default unless Chess.con, for some reason, decides to allow it to stay.

Good luck bro! :)

Lack of features for basic members.... they don't work for you for free?!?!? How dare they!

Ambush1

I agree with you on the stupidity of a lot of the members, but that just comes with free accounts (premium members can be just as stupid though). When ever you give anyone something for free whether its an account on chess.com or anything else people tend to abuse it because they have nothing to lose. You just have stay away from the social construct here is all. On the other hand chess.com gives quite a bit of content to free members more so than most any other chess site that is free.

People can not leave chess.com foruns.

It is too addictive; more addictive than chess or cocaine.
