I remember reading somewhere that... Bobby Fischer said that the only accurate version of his book - "My Memorable 60 Games", is in German and not in English.

I have seen high quality opening books in Russian for

- English Opening
 - Sicilian Paulsen
 - Sicilian Najdorf

The analysis of variations is pretty extensive, containing some very interesting lines.

With the advent of Computer assisted analysis, many of the very good books of Yester Years before 1990 - have become less accessed.

Personally, I do not like book backed by computer analysis and factually correct but with confusing moves which are not easily understandable for humans.

I will rather read older books full of interesting ideas discovered by Humans, though not very accurate according to computers.

Chess is an universal language in itself !!

Anyone can follow chess moves notation in Russian. It is that simple. If you cannot, you can quit chess.

I cannot read Russian Text. But then I learnt the opening variations so thoroughly that I do not mind going through some good chess books in Russian. I mentioned the opening books (in Russian) that I went through.

If you have that chess interest, you do not mind it.

How about you?

I can read descriptive notation which I learned from Portuguese chess books (only ones I have)

Guess if you learnt algebraic you could read a couple two

hmm, let's see what you are suggesting.. you're telling me to quit chess if i cant follow it in russian. well, that's a bit rough tone. Is that how you make your daily conversations in india? do that or quit? no other way?.. hmm, interesting.. it must be a cultural behaviour..

I can read it in english and follow it easily because a chess book is not just a collection of diagrams, there are explanations and deatils of shown ideas. So i prefer to fully understand what it has to tell me.

but thank you for your 'suggestion'.. it was a bit imposing though however.

My apologies for sounding harsh.

No need to drag country and culture into this discussion. I guess you did not use your words like a Saint either.

But anyway I agree with you that I could have used more better words to point out to You, the right message.
