Perhaps by humans, but aliens started playing it much earlier. Think about it: the game was already highly developed when aliens brought it to Earth.

josephyossi

maybe it sounds fake

ANOK1

thats a very specific date , what made you choose it ?

josephyossi

because indians have been arund for a long time and im wondering it happend then

ANOK1

lets assume that to play chess you need recreation time this points to agrarian communities where time was free to pursue pastimes ,

Egypt , India , China , and Iraq?Iran (Tigris Euphrates ) all had this ability by 50 bc and many much before

ANOK1

India has many artifacts (mainly idols and temples ) showing a very old civilisation and they have proven a historical variation of chess

ANOK1

but when chess happened youd need to ask macer to travel back and find the answer to that , pity cos whoever made the game deserves a whacking great statue

So I guess the aliens brought chess to India, and then Indians brought it to the rest of the world?

I'll try my best, but I can't promise that I'll find anything.

I don't see why aliens chose India for bringing chess to the world. What's wrong with Mexico?

And India hasn't even contributed anything in proving the existence of extra- terrestrial life. Talk about loyalty!

Hi,

Lebanese-Mexican here. (Hola mi Gente!). The ET's brought futból to the EUM (Yeah, Estados Unidos Mexicanos, there's no such thing as Mexico, the official name of the republic is United Mexican States, people say Mexico for short)  Now, they saw that these were hard working, industrious people, and saw they could use a physical activity to destress after work, so they dropped a soccer ball there. Now they saw that India were crafty people, lovers and makers of figurines, so they dropped a chess set there and now all the carved chess pieces in the world, well 90% of them come from there. Capish muchacho?

@hynderDurk are you as good as helping people to know stuff as you are playing chess? I like playing against you sense we have been sneaking our pieces to capture the other pieces both and we both have made a few mistakes.

GUYS THAT DIDNT HAPPEN BY ALIENS

ANOK1

whoever invented chess had to be comfortable with the idea of infinity , its built into the game , now some branches of a move tree lead to disaster some to victory , is this an inbuilt allegory to spiritual questing or military strategy , id go for both

but more the former as whoever did create the game probably did it for its learning it gives

ANOK1

im going human , as chess creator , our minds are capable of so much , weve proved loads forgot loads more

CookedQueen

For sure I can say I didn't those days 50 b.c.
