high puzzle rating, low actual rating

I have a score of 35 on puzzle rush (survival) which is close to 2,000 and I'm confident I could get a similar score on normal puzzles (if I could play more than three per day), but my rating is 850. Does this mean I have potential as a player or is this a common thig.

You should soon get to 1800 puzzle rating or even 2000. But it's very different from your other ratings. I just got to 2200 puzzle rating but I'm 1000-1100 in rapid and 1250 in daily. So what do ya know.

Puzzle rating is doomed to be different from your actual one. During a puzzle you know there's got to be something (checkmate, pin, skewer, fork, etc) while in a live game you always have to look for potential attacks, no one tells you if you have a winning advantage. Then there's the pressure of the game, you don't have as much time to think, especially in smaller time controls, whereas in puzzles you can take as much time as you need, unless you play 3/5 min puzzle rush. The thing is puzzles are to help you recognize tactics more easily. That being said, to improve you need to actually play the game. It doesn't matter how many puzzles you solve if you don't play the game. I hope this has been helpful.

I can't help but notice that despite you being a 1200, I have a higher puzzle rush score of 35, compared to your 32. does this mean I have higher than average skill? idk
