Bury six chicken bones in moist peat. Wait until midnight on the full moon and dance around them backwards with osprey tail feathers behind your ears.

Can confirm. This is a miracle cure for sucking at chess.

Chesstempo tactic 1 hr a day everyday. Never move a piece until you visualize the solution in your head.

If you miss it, figure out the motif of the puzzle

well that might also work but my method is easier on everyone concerned (except the chicken)

I tried dancing backwards once, twisted my ankle and broke my arm when I fell.

1. Work on chess tactic puzzles 15 minutes at a time, several times a day.

2. Play against the computer, slowly. Before each move, write down each candidate move you considered, and why you selected your chosen move. It can be demoralizing to always lose to the computer, so feel free to often chose the second-best move, or play a weaker bot. After each game, go over each move with a strong player or Stockfish. (Stockfish is excellent for finding mistakes, but it takes work for it to tell you conceptually why a move is a mistake. Take notes on what you learn.

3. In addition to full games, play other positions, such as simple endgames or positions from interesting games.

4. You can use the URL of games in your Chess.com Game History to keep track of games or positions you are studying. For example: https://www.chess.com/analysis/game/live/143716069518/review

5. When you play speed chess, realize you are sacrificing learning time for fun time. It's okay to play for fun, but be aware that you're doing that at the expense of learning.

6. Play gambits. One of the hardest skills to learn is how to convert a dynamic positional advantage into a win. Sure, you will lose more games playing gambits than if you played safely. But you need to choose to learn over improving your rating right away.

It may say unfinished, but that’s just a technical issue. Read this only for those people who know I am on ios I managed to make this because in a club I found a blog link and I clicked and I found the option to make a blog.
