At the Grand Swiss, Gukesh is having a pretty hard time. Share your thoughts of how you would feel if you were him.

They already drew. I assumed he'd win but I guess he's relaxing now, just coasting til the tournaments over.

I remember that when Gukesh won the word championship, people were already debating whether he really deserved to win it, or if it was simply handed to him on a silver platter. I even saw a few people argue that Ding threw the last match, which wasn't at all helped by the fact that he fell off the face of the earth shortly afterward. Because of that, I can imagine Gukesh must be feeling a lot of pressure to prove himself, to the point that it's actually hurting his performance.

Obviously, I'm nowhere near Gukesh's level and probably never will be, so I generally try to tread lightly here. However, I will say that his recent slump is definitely amplifying people's doubts about whether he really "earned" it. He's going to have to make a pretty legendary comeback and maintain it for quite some time if he wants to start changing some people's minds.

Gukesh beat the #22 player, Ding, who never even won a candidates tournament. Gukesh is currently ranked #12 in the world & #3 in India.

Garry Kasparov who knows a thing or 2 about chess & championship matches, said he didn't consider it a world championship match because the best player wasn't even playing in it.

I completely agree. I'm sure it was a legitimate world championship, as all the rules were followed. And he certainly deserved to win. But it was a contest to see who could beat the players in it, NOT a contest to see who the worlds best player is. Everyone knows the worlds best player wasn't participating. No matter who won, there is going to be an asterisk by their name.
