black just moved, and white is mated. I don't understand, can't the white king move to take the black queen and escape? I just started to play 2 days ago.

The white king cannot take the black queen because it is protected by the black bishop on A8.
OH! DUH lol I didn't see the second bishop, just the first one. hehe bad eyes >_<
