How much Elo do I need to get invitations for tournaments or travel fees paid by a small sponsor?

I received an invitations the other day, and we seem to have about the same rating. It felt more like a commercial though, cause I needed to become a diamond member to participate.

Don't know for sure, but I doubt anyone atleast below a GM would get an all expense paid tournament invite.

Hey, Alessandra01, it is me, Cyboo again. I hope you saw what I wrote regarding your previous “reach 2200 before 22” or something like that. Anyway, what is your current ELO? Ok never mind. The answer to your question is that it depends. To go for casual chess “tournaments” and national ones, you have to pay your own expenses, but I do not think you need invites. As you get better, you may become a CM, and then a NM, but you will still need to pay your own expenses...so unless you really want to make professional chess your career, maybe you will need to plan a bit more. Until you reach worldwide fame, such as being a GM, and a more famous one at that, travel fees are most likely not going to be paid, and you may still get invites, but probably not ones that give the winner prize money. So, I hope you already have a sustainable source of income!
