How much tactic training should you do per day?

Lazy individuals are out of the talk this is for regular people with a genuine interest

The number of hours of tactics you should do is equal to half the amount of hours you play. I had tested several amount of time to practice tactics vs the amount of play and it turns out that this is the most efficient way. Because of this I tend to play a 10 minute chess and do 10 minute of tactic puzzle after it.

I am 81 puzzles behind for the week.

Studying openings seems like a good use of time. Although I tactics are good, they rarely show up in a game.

You found the beginner-level tactical shot in this position from your most recent game.

If you are a beginner, I suggest that you study what you enjoy. Anything you study is likely to help you improve. As you improve, I suggest that you study areas that you feel you need to improve.

10-15 tactics a day

dfgh123

I just do a 5 minute puzzle rush for a warmup as my tactic training then one 15/10 game and try and learn something from it, today's game where I missed a checkmate in one! So maybe I should do more tactics

I did these 2400 problems last January. Averaged 7 seconds per problem. Got five wrong. 70 others took two tries, usually involving a knight check where I put the knight on a square where it could be captured.

It wasn't a tactic really. Cuz I don't practice tactics. It was merely part of an attack.

20 minutes

Ziryab

I think this is a health proportion. For every game I’ve played in the past week, I’ve done two puzzles.

Risamidona

Bro there are only 24 hours in a day🤣🤣🤣

What website is that?

Are you asking about the screenshots from my stats on this site or the screenshot of an iPhone app?

Possibly just a few puzzles plus lengthy sequence calculation and analysis where you try to determine what you would do in response to what you see as the best response for your opponent in daily games .

Best way to improve tactics play daily games as they have the conditional moves setting which allows you to analyze long sequences of moves and find every possible outcome while your opponent is making their move .

Daily 14 days or Daily 7 days would be my advice as it allows you to retrain yourself in the same position 2-3 times a day for atleast 2-3 days allowing you to spot alot of tactics and combos which develops tactical proficiency

BigChessplayer665

play games if you get tilted or burnt out then switch to tactics also chess.com tactics i rairly did tactics and got to 1600-1900 in about 3 months if you feel WORSE at tactics then your elo though you should do tactics more often other than that maybe once-5 times per month do tactics

Magnus carlsen trains for around 30 hours a day, so you should at least train for 25 hours a day to be even decent.

I doubt that since I've watched every video he's ever been in and he hasn't mentioned 30 hours and I highly doubt you spoke to Magnus.

I'm friends with his sister. He trains for 30 hours a day.

Nice trolling.
dude, I’m his coach. It’s legit. He uses a Time Machine to practice for 30+ hr a day
