How to Calculate in Chess

To calculate in chess, first find forcing candidate moves like checks, captures, and attacks, then calculate the consequences of each move to the end of the forcing sequence, and finally, evaluate the resulting positions and compare them to choose the best move. This process involves visualizing possible sequences, identifying your opponent's threats and your own tactical resources, and consistently assessing the material balance and overall advantage of each line.

The calculator idea will work too.

Hey,

Check the forcing moves, once you recognize hanging pieces go on with tactical patterns like forks, skewers, discover checks etc...

After a period of playing, keep going with some more advanced stuff like in between moves, quiet moves and positional advantages type of positions.

Keep doing that and you'll calculate better than 99% of the world

I don't even bother, I know I'd miscalculate anyway.
