Robots, robots of all kinds, are a big threat to the world
Humans v Engines. The Final Verdict

I understand your desire to retire from this fray. Your voice will be missed. I'm issuing you a Free Pass to come out of retirement and reenter the debate, if and when you are moved to do so.

Robots, robots of all kinds, are a big threat to the world
Michigen bro, believe me ot not, robots are actually very good at... menial jobs, not to be decision-makers for humans, erm, in that case I'd call'em humanoids.
There should be clear distinction, who is the Master in the drivier's seat, and who is a good servant

Thanks my Idaho bro. We stand united against the rise of robots and their humanoid slaves!
I just accepted your friend request from the sisterly State of Idaho. You may recognize my fine appreciation of the Idahoan by the way I say Boise, "boy-see", not "boy-zee"

The roles of master and servant should be solely allotted by raw skill. And computers are just that much better at tactics.

True my friend.
But how about strategy? Our beloved game is actually a game of Strategy. And tactics has always been serving strategy... it's just the standard tool of Strategy, is nich' wahr?

There are various problems wit robots and AI in general, and it is of a spiritual nature, which ultimately reflects on the political spheres (of which I have no interest at all).
This is the problem: It is the consciousness of the people programming them, and designing this "new world", and trying to convince us that it is to our benefit to buy into all of this.
If you have not conquered the human passions, then your actions will be to serve those.
Greed, avarice, selfishness, anger, jealousy, etc....are all manifestations of one ignorance.
A real saint does not want anything from anybody; he/she feels the presence of God in his/her heart, and sees God in others. therefore, what is there to covet? What "conquests" of the ego are there, waiting to be satisfied by a feeling of supremacy? None.
In this light, the usage of robots/computers/AI will be subservient to the desires of the people who run the apparatus that uses them.
So the problem is not really technology, but the transformation of the human consciousness to a Divine consciousness is the real problem, but that is a subject too sacred, and to deep to discuss here. It is something to be lived, more than talked about and debated.
We all come from a pure, infinite Love (God), and the more we can attune ourselves to it, the more divine we become, which is, by the way, our real human nature, and not this conglomeration of petty desires, wants and needs I call "me". It is in the soul that the real individuality is found.
ROARING PAWN RESTS HIS CASE AGAINST ENGINES
As many of you may have noticed, RoaringPawn has been a fierce and vehement opponent of abusive use of Engines, Robots, AI, AlphaZero, Google Translator, and all other technology marvels of the Digital Era as long as they are not properly used, rather than only as a tool and for menial jobs, and not a replacement for human intellect. And I am NOT against technology, as long as it stays where it should be, in the role of a Good Servant.
Today, RoaringPawn is taking a difficult decision and this post is actually an official announcement (and a surprise one at that for many of my supporters, as well opponents) that I rest my case against the above cited wonders of the Machine Age.
I really want to spare time to top bloggers like @the_real_greco, @JapaneseTutor, the expert top bloggers for AI, AlphaZero etc. affairs, who have routinely deleted my pesty comments from their blogs.
Also I don't want to comment on AlphaZero any more (I wrote a blog on it before). Thus, its inventor Demis Hassabis wouldn't have to have the pain of blocking me in SM any more (as he has done on Twitter).
.
And if, we are all human after all, I feel an uncontrollable violent urge to say something in a debate on the Humans vs Engines subject, I give a firm, solemn promise today that I will NOT say a word.
Only, if you permit, a Video. Just one video.
A Video, as the famous adage goes, "is worth a thousand words."
Messi in a Humans vs Robots match.

This is @TheFuturist007's comment on Twitter (I found the video there).
Do robots really pose a major threat to us?
It looks like we're safe for now!
