Ok, I might be low rated, but I can guarantee you that in order to improve you have to quit playing so many games, especially blitz, and actually study chess. This would include, but not limited to; studying and playing through multiple variations of your own games, annotated games (which you can find plenty of those in you tube, by helpful master level players), maybe read a book or two on endings and strategy. Play through master games of the openings you use and see what the masters do to handle certain positions, etc. The main thing at first is to increase your knowledge of familiarity with standard positions and what plans are viable in a given position. I repeat, you need to scale way back on playing and take time to actually study and learn. It might take several months to see an actual improvement in your play. Hope this helps.
I Don't Even Understand How I Can Suck So Much!

Who knows why that happens, last night I hoped online and started playing and pretty much lost every game, went on a bit of a chess tilt. Finally called it quits and went to bed. This morning I managed to get another session in and pretty much won every game...
Freshness and awareness is so crucial to your game. It would benefit me to recognize those moments when I'm on tilt and not on my game, to just throw in the towel until I'm in a different state of mind.

You are a human being. It's actually normal if you lose. It just means there are things that you need to improve or correct. No matter what minutes you are playing it really is hard if you play to a short time. When I jump from a 5 minutes to a 3 minutes. I had a hard time and I lose a lot. You just have to adapt and play your game.

Take a break every now and then. Get plenty of rest. Tiredness makes you less aware of a good move, or seeing what someone else is plotting.

I know that sucking as much as I do didn't happen overnight. It required a lot of practice and dedication to get to where I am today. Even now, I'm continually seeking new ways to hone and temper this quality.

When I get on a losing streak I limit myself to about two losses per day. After I lose two games, I quit playing for a day or two and just study those two games that I lost, go through chess books, do puzzles, and just try to memorize a game or two by a famous chess player. It freshens you up a bit, I find :)
Also, avoid blitz like the plague.

A piece of advice. Find some short not too difficult tactics which you can do. If you do them quickly, you could be in good form for blitz. Otherwise, not. Therefore play blitz only when you can do the tactics. You will also improve your blitz over time.

For me, thinking in depth about the game in front of me is one of the most enjoyable aspects of playing. As a byproduct of slowing down, you may enjoy the game more and get better as you go.
As far as understanding how you can suck so much...a wise man once said "the key to not sucking is realizing that you suck . If you don't know that you suck, well, you suck".
So I've been playing 5 minutes games, and I can't even begin to comprehend how I can go from a 10 game winning streak to a 6 loss streak... I took a few hour break and when I came back I could NOT win a single game! It honestly discourages me beyond belief and I don't even know where to begin on how to improve. This is more of a venting post, but any help would be greatly appreciated!
