Well, that makes sense, actually. You borrowed money and bought a house with that money. Of course you still have to pay it back if your house is destroyed. Why should the bank (ie. its shareholders) take the hit for your misfortune?

Some of the insurance companies are not accepting the new homes that are rebuilt on the same site. They claim it's a dangerous fire zone . . .
