Keep posting, and you'll get a "megaphone" achievement.

It's done - you can now turn off the notifications when you earn an achievement - it's in Settings --> Alerts and Email

 Thanks David.  Good quick response to a minor, but still irritating annoyance.  I was afraid you guys were just going to "let it be" until we got used to it.  Hopefully no more than a few members jumped ship over this.

The achievements are kind of dumb, they got the idea from chesskid that is their page too but only for kids and parents, I dont see any purpose of putting that here, those things are for kids, I dont like them so much but just ignore that, is not a big deal

They didn't "get the idea from chess kid". chesskid and chess.com are made by the same people.

  wait..... does that mean the IT dept gets an achievement award..??   Tell em what he's won Johnny  "Right you are Bob".   The entire team gets a beautiful 3 color "participant award" valued at $4000. that they can hang in any thread of their choosing.

I like the achievements, besides Matajajas obviously your not just here to play Chess. Since your here in the forms complaining about minutiae.
