Yes, stop playing blitz games.😛

BryanCFB

Or hope to play opponents like me who probably move slower than you.🙂

In all seriousness, if you are taking more time to think now that could mean you are more into the game, an essential step in the improvement process.

Otherwise, just chalk it up to a bad streak. It happens to the best of us.

That is sort of my point in that if you are taking more time lately to the point where you are flagging or blundering in time pressure then you must be thinking more and taking your games more seriously, a step on the road to improvement.

The best way to improve your game is just to keep playing. Keep playing and eventually more success against intermediate players will come.

Ted Williams was perhaps the best hitter in the history of baseball. One of his teammates once asked him for advice on hitting a slider. Williams said, “you’re having trouble hitting a slider?” “Yes,” the teammate replied. “Then why do you swing at it?”

if blitz is too fast for you, stick to slower time controls. I don’t think a player should regularly play blitz or bullet until they are at least 1700. Playing such fast time controls before you have mastered the basics just encourages bad habits and slows your development.

We’ll always watch the clock and make sure you’re moves don’t take too long but also are good moves, so I guess in all seriousness just do faster good moves

The way to become a better blitz player is to become a better player.

And the way to become a better player is to NOT PLAY BLITZ.

I am 1600 lichess rapid and ~1680 lichess blitz, and for some reason, i feel like 1600 rapid lichess players are way easier than even 1000 chess.com rapid, any idea why? (I dont know if you play on lichess or not, but since you are a titled player i hope that you will have some ideas/tips, thanks)

BryanCFB

I know that other site's ratings are inflated compared to Chess.com ratings but 600 points is higher than I would have expected.
