I Lost My Queen!

Sure in Blitz or Bullet chess anything can happen in that short time frame Play-On ! But at longer time controls the only compensation for the loss of your queen is a decisive mateing attack or pawn promotion , the games posted of where people have blundered their queen and went on to win are few and far between!

Two rooks are sometimes stronger than one queen.
True, but there's no compensation if your opponent still has two rooks.

It irratates me when someone of a higher rank forfeits the game after losing his/her queen.
I should have such problems...
How many of you quit the game after you lose your queen? It irratates me when someone of a higher rank forfeits the game after losing his/her queen.
I must admit that I do it myself, but it is very annoying when you have a "game in the bag", and someone resigned

Due to poor play and oversights I frequently lose my queen in the opening. However, if i play on, often I end up winning the game. Here is one such recent example. I lost my queen on move 16 because of a pure blunder and went on to grind out a win. Personally, I believe that perhaps your opponent becomes overconfident and careless after snagging one's queen.

I lost my queen to the OP just now very early on in a Bullet game - stayed in and plugged up the board, was winning on time and then he made a mistake and I checkmated him: such is the nature of Bullet. I think the key advice is that if you do lost your queen to a blunder, complicate the board - don't exchange pieces, try to lock things up. Correspondingly, if you DO manage to catch your opponent out with this trick, SIMPLIFY - exchange anything you can and open up the board as much as possible, so you can use your decisive piece advantage.

I think the world-famous legendary classic rock band Led Zeppelin put it best in a song ("Tangerine"), on their third album,
Measuring a summer's day, I only finds it slips away to grey,
The hours, they bring me pain.
[Chorus]
Tangerine, Tangerine, Living reflection from a dream;
I was her love, she was my queen, And now a thousand years between.
Thinking how it used to be, Does she still remember times like these?
To think of us again? And I do.
How many of you quit the game after you lose your queen? It irratates me when someone of a higher rank forfeits the game after losing his/her queen. I try not to use my queen and I even use it to take someone else's queen because I feel it makes me think harder and faster when I have no queen. Plus, the game feels so much sweeter if I win with no queen.
