If Fischer would played Karpov for the World Champion, who would win?

Karpov wrote a Disney comic. Fischer could never have done that, thus once again proving his inferiority to the Great Soviet Champion Karpov.

Given the normal quality of full-length feature films, I'm not sure they're so much superior to a Disney comic.

You are correct of course, without your wise and benevolent instruction I could never have understood why Karpov wrote the book.

kAarpov wrote this book to help the children learn and master the game. That's something you cannot understand. Fischer, on the other hand, was semi-literate and couldnt write properly.

Best "beginners" chess book: "Bobby Fischer Teaches Chess"

Best-selling chess book of all time: "My 60 Memorable Games" by Fischer

Karpov's book?  He stole the title from Korchnoi's book!!

First Alexandra alleges that Karpov didn't write the book and that Jamie faked the whole thing; then, when proven wrong, states that Karpov wrote the book to help childern learn and master the game. Then she goes on to say that Fischer couldn't write the book because he was semi-literate. What's next, Alexandra?

Too funny!

Don't you have literature for children in Kyrgyzstan? Frown 40 % of schoolchildren in your country are illiterate. That's too bad.

Fischer's IQ was reportedly 180.  Beat's Karpov by at least 100.  I just wonder how Karpov functioned in society, dragging his knuckles like he did.

Robert Fischer has said this:

"When I win, I will put my title on the line every year, maybe even twice. I'll give players a chance to beat me." But then came Karpov...

Every schoolboy knows better than to compare Karpov with the Giant Fischer.Fischer is the pinnacle of chess,Karpov is maybe number 6 at best. Not bad, true, but far from the top, which is reserved for the big Boys like Carlsen,Fischer,Capa,Kasparov,Lasker,Alekhine.Your boyfriend cannot compare to these guys, sad but true..

The issue was the FIDE, not Karpov.  Karpov was just the fly trapped on the sticky paper.

Fischer probably would have gotten off to a fast start against Karpov, and then Karpov would have had a strong finish but come up short in their initial meeting.  But Karpov playing against Fischer for 10 years would have sharpened him (as no other could), so that Karpov would have been completely prepared for Kasparov.  Karpov would have eventually beaten Fischer, although Fischer would have remained strong all of his life and while he still played.  Kasparov would eventually be too much for Fischer as well, even though Fischer would never be completely ran over by the two Ks. It's a shame that we couldn't have seen these giants go back and forth from the mid 70s through the 90s, elevating the game of chess almost back to the 'golden age' of the days of the original "Grand Masters."  That would have been a real treat and the world have enjoyed the real gift of Bobby Fischer over that span of time.  Now, the world of chess belongs to all of the young GMs who will captivate us in the same way.

In every picture I have ever seen of Karpov his hair always looks dirty/greasy . Maybe he didnt believe in washing his hair or something ?

That's not a 'nice' picture in the Nordic countries where I live; see below:

I believe that the two Ks would have pushed Bobby towards what should have been his greatest form and pinnacle.  That would have been worth every penny, and the chess world would indeed be the richer.
