I would think that the generally accepted definition of someone that is a beginner in chess would be someone that learned how the pieces moves.
While i am not a title player, i am certainly not a beginner.

Have you tried the chessfox.com free ten day chess challenge? It really helped me. I suspect that it might help you also.

What are you than?
I have quoted the definition of beginner for you once. I will not do it again. If you're so stupid that you can't understand that everybody who isn't a master isn't a beginner then you are beyond my help.
I do not know why you are trying to be offensive for. I never insulted you.
My statement is pretty reasonable. I do not see how I am wrong and others as well do not see how I am wrong.
If you do not believe he is a beginner than what do you believe he is?
Hitler never insulted me, so therefore I should feel neutral towards his actions too? Nothing that you have said is reasonable. Not even close! You could not be talking more crap if you tried! As for others not seeing your fault; yet again this is a ridiculous argument that does nothing to attempt to correct myself or defend the crap you said. It's also not based upon any evidence as only a single person has made such a claim, not multiple.
What do you mean, what do I believe he is?? What planet are you living on? I don't spend my life reading the dictionary just so that I can tell morons like yourself the exact terminology for any absurd niche categorisations that take your fancy! He is somebody who plays chess. He certainly isn't a master. He certainly isn't a beginner. I know the definitions of those two words. Neither could possibly be considered to cover the OP.

Thank you, you beautiful, sane, none moronic person!

Beginner - "A person just starting to learn a skill or take part in an activity."
^^ A person with those rankings is a person who is just starting to learn a skill.
The skill of playing chess!

The activity of playing chess!
Apparently you have failed your whole life in your reading comprehension of the dictionary

The fact that you think that because a rating of 1200 is given to you before you have played any games (not even true anymore anyway, but that's a moot point), is related to the standard that people play at when they first learn the game says more about you than I ever could.
You should request that your carer checks you into a home for the mentally retarded before you hurt yourself. I have about 50 arguments that I could throw at you, destroying what you just have demonstrated you believe but I won't waste any more time on you. You don't have the mental capacity to absorb a word of it.

In response to your text in Green:
The ranking is provisional.
After you leave provisional and your ranking is still in provisional or below implys. You are still a beginner.
In response to your text in Red:
This still happens OTB.
In response to your text in Blue:
It is related. If he was rated 1200 than went to 500 than back to 800. He is still in the beginner range of chess.
What do you not understand?
If a Grand Master goes to 2600 than went to 2000 than back to 2540. He is considered a Grand Master.
Do you not understand? What I am telling you?
I have about 50 arguments that I could throw at your destroying what you just have demonstrated.
Challenge accepted!
Go ahead and prove to us, He is not a beginner.
When he is in a forum which he created labled "Improving my game"
Which is exactly what other beginners do?
Technically speaking, he's not a beginner, but he has the same skill level as a beginner so we might as well treat him like one.
Technically speaking, he's not a beginner, but he has the same skill level as a beginner so we might as well treat him like one.
He is not provisional but he is got the skill set of a beginner.
Exactly, my point! Thank you Charetter115
Which means labeling him a beginner is prefectly viable.
Learn the different strategies for various pawn structures and center types and spend two entire months at least working on just rook endgames. You'll need many resources for it, I'd start with Understanding Chess Endgames and Endgame Tactics then move onto Comprehensive Chess Endings with rooks and Dvoretsky's Endgame Manual. You'll also want to dedicate and organize time to study pawn endgames for two months as well. This will help you drill your calculation as well as teach indispensable concepts such as the rule of the square, Bahr's Rule, breakthrough, triangulation, opposition, distant opposition, pawn sacrifice to gain opposition, virtual opposition, and others.
For rook endings learn the Lucena Position, Short-side Defense, Philidor's Defense, Frontal Defense, and the Vancura Position.
Bishop vs. knight endings are all about creating zugzwang situations, and opposite colored bishop endings are all about king activity and initiative. Even if you're two pawns up an opposite colored bishop ending can be quite drawish.

I love how you think that this backs you up. I don't understand it, but I love it. You are far too stupid for me to understand how you think. I am not capable of continuing a conversation with you. Untracking. The OP doesn't deserve help anyway. He doesn't resign when he should. I have no time for people like that.

lol A Grand Master would call you a beginner lol.
However, yeah usually once you reach a certain point in ranking. The chess community don't consider you a beginner. It is subjective though.

Actually GM's would not consider me a beginner.

I believe you are the "dumb" one here
Charetter is saying his skill set is of a beginner which means calling him a beginner is justified.
However, Charetter mistake was in saying he is not a beginner.
The fact is he is no longer provisional. Yet he still is a beginner.
2.5k games is nothing compared to how many games Grand Masters play.
That is trival amount of games. Beginner amount!
Actually GM's would not consider me a beginner.
It depends on how high your ranking is.
I believe OTB they do give the title of expert once you break 2000.

You started the game.
Than you insulted me.
X_PLAYER_J_X won by checkmate.
Now you are upset you lost.
Good Game
Bye!
1. There are several very good videos at chesskids.com. Just ignore the silly characters and learn the basic principles. There are also several free courses in chess mentor designed specifically for players who need help.
2. There are several individuals who have posted that they do free mentoring. I would take advantage of their lessons.
3. Stop playing blitz. I suggest that you take up online (correspondence) chess to work on improving your game.
3. Just ignore the bullies.
Best of luck.

What has he accomplished in his 2.5k games.
His ranking is still very close to a provisional one.
