Tate's mastery isn't one that can be captured by limited systems devised by Arpad Elo. The preturnatural beauty of his chess is beyond human measurement.

The first and only time I won Chessmaster 3000 at the Top Tournament level, when I checkmated it I screamed out w/ everything in me. The two other girls I was living w/ came running in wondering what the he!! happened ! I'll never forget that moment.

I was so intent & determined (it took me over a year) that when I did it ?....I instinctively lost it....and that was the best feeling I've ever had in chess. I was playing purely on borderlinecrossing emotion. It's hard for me to duplicate that, but when I start playing people over 1800, then it kinda kicks in. And that's when I almost always play my best....Smile....

And don't believe for a second when IM pfren says he had zero breaks on his way to IM. He's lying to you. Whether it was a game break norm, or another person taking an interest, or something. Ego can play tricks with your memory.

And once, playing CM3000 at an earlier time ?....when I lost a totally won position against it ?....I picked up a small wooden planter by the legs and slammed it on the carpeted concrete floor. I'll never 4get how it splintered n2 pieces.

I had wrecked it & it scared me, but I actually felt better afterwards....Smile....

Hmmm... I wonder who's more likely to be right about reaching high chess levels.

It seems that you need to open a dictionary, and look at the definition of the word need.

Im pfren....w/ all due respect (but w/ all turning to much) I'm calling you out as a liar on this one.

It doesn't mean I don't like you. I do !....and I always read all your condescending remarks to others....but here you've gone just too far....I'm sorry.

And pretty pleez ?....show some appreciation for your chess gifts & good luck, okay ?

Yay! Someone else agrees with me that IM pfren is an arrogant p****!

IM pfren--accuses newengland7 of trolling then goes to troll on this forum. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.......

Avatar of fissionfowl

Yeah! He should be more civil to the arrogant patzers saying he doesn't know what it takes to make IM.

Avatar of The_Ghostess_Lola

Wait a second ne7. He's a bugger, but in a good way, I feel. And I'm okay w/ him.

Avatar of bigpoison

I like you, you dirty liar.

And as a cautionary note, for all of your own good, your rating should be inversely proportional to your Egostatistical Quotient. I am good friends w/ the promoter of one of the best chess players alive today. Every single one of you know this player's name. In fact, you hinge on many of his words !

So don't don't sit there and tell me that I don't know anything about how a 13 yo talent can skillfully be brought along in (7) years n2 world class chess. Not from the all stories that have been told to me.

And that's the only hint you will be getting from me as to who he is....Tongue Out....

bobby is better than emory in everything. he is ten times stronger.

In everything ?....There are (10) meaningful things that Emory Tate could do better than BF. Just like there are (10) meaningful things I can do better than any of you reading this right now.

ET probably had more creativity than BF ever did (tho' that's not saying much). But that alone wouldn't make him a more winning player.

ok think about this

we don't talk about who the greater mathematician is or the greatest physicist is in those fields..because how can you compare to say Gauss vs. Euler, they studied different fields and had different sort of styles

just lke in chess there are players with different styles

peraphs are you good in maths too? once you'll get anobel for maths you may found out that on the field medal there's Archimedes and not Euler.

but it's all the same.  at our current level of understanding (mine and yours) we shouldn't even bother to make comparison among GM but even NM and the same goes for monsters in math or physic and so on.

if you ever had the luck to have some like NM or above teaching, showing you how the principle of chess works and putting them into practice you may see how much you simply don't understand and you may start to realize how much difference there's. we simply can't grasp the difference because they're way above us.

nothing bad with you...

no comment.

IM pfren makes me laff....Smile....

I'm sure Tate would beat Fischer every time at golf.

Chess? Errr, sure. Fischer was good only for beating 6-0 patzers like Larsen and Taimanov. Against Tate it would have a very hard time...

It seems that you are short of cigarettes there, and you're smoking weird stuff.

Okay, I just looked it up. MT was a beach raisin (age 46) when he played BF. (it's what we call old people who are still tanning here) And they say BL was way-way past his prime (late 30's ?).

So we can discount those two....Smile....
