It is a private company so idk if u can buy stock. But, you can buy stock with the company's permission. So, if you want to: ask. (Although you will probably get denied.)

Just because it's a private company doesn't mean there is no stock. It depends on how the company is structured. The owners of chess.com are probably not interested in selling stock. But they may entertain other investing offers.
