I don't know many opening variations but the ones I do know tend to start with 1. e4 so I like it.  I'm comfortable with it.

and I'd call d4 Nf6 equally boring, so d4 won't avoid boringness.

the first move doesn't set whether it will be boring, it is the whole opening.

center game, danish gambit, scotch game are all exciting to me!

Do you class the trompowsky as boring?

from blacks point of view yes. i miss those 2.c4 players. i dont see them often anymore

Openings can't be boring, players can.

d4 Nf6 is not boring. The KID is probably one of the most exciting openings there is (the nimzo-indian can of course be considered boring).

It isn't boring as long as you don't play this: 1.e4 e5 2.Nf3 Nc6 3.Nc3 Nf6 4.Bb5

You'd think that... I played an OTB game last week, both of us are around 2100 FIDE equivalent players, here's the first half of the game - I'm white:

Exciting game.  I cant follow all the complications.  John Curdo (2400ish USCF) used to play at the chess club where I learned chess, and he won $80-120 EVERY Saturday playing the Four Knights, and its not like he gave up draws to inferior players.

Only if you consider boring to mean really exciting.

if you find any part  of chess boring why play it,we all play chess because we love it :). I find players mainly say this when they find certain postions harder than others they prefer.
