Yes, chess is luck.
is carlsen really better than anand or carlsen by luck win wch

Most wins are luck, especially at the highest levels. It's a little known fact of chess that the more you improve, the luckier you get.

One does not win 3 games and draw 7 games
by being "lucky"
I could swear that I learned in another thread that you can do anything you want if you want it enough, so surely you could be consistently really lucky if you wanted it enough and tried hard enough?
Maybe if you tried for 10,000 hours and you really, really wanted it?

ha! hoist them with their own petard!

It is very clear Carlsen is better than Anand now. One thing is you can look at their established ratings. Also, players won't win by luck in 12 games series. Both Carlsen and Anand are great player. They both are very tough. However, Anand might not know some strategy Carlsen attempts.
it is true though chess is alot about luck, unless of course u calculate EVERYTHING, which even houdini doesnt do.
