Just a game.

It is a simple combinatoric and geometric game. Hence, a mathematical game. The art comes from the pieces for role-playing purpose. Science is the study of piece and position values because we cannot do repetitive arithmetic in our minds fast enough.

MartySF2007

A mix or science and mathematics combined to form a sport.

Yes

I would add psychology.

It's art.

In the 19th century it was an art. In the 20th century it was a science. In 21st century it’s a sport. With the emergence of chess engines, humans don’t seek truth anymore, but practical results.
Kyobir

In the 22nd century it'll be a school subject

Chess is like a really cool game that's also a bit like art, science, math, and sports! You have to use your brain to think really hard and figure out what moves to make. Sometimes you have to use your imagination and creativity to come up with new ideas. It's also about following rules and trying to beat your opponent. And just like in sports, you can win prizes and get really good at it if you practice a lot!

And you have to use Psychology throughout.
