Is chess conceptually flawed?
Seriously? This thread really needs to be deleted, or locked at the very least. The fact that moderators are allowing it to push relevant topics down the list is ridiculous, and probably a huge reason why stronger players rarely bother with the forums on this site.
No , i do not think chess is flawed , A good solid defence should be hard to attack through , i believe that if it ain"t broken / don"t try to fix it . But a good thought provoking question . cheers .

Hm, maybe it has something more to do with "Kasparov vs Fischer" and "Is K + Q vs K a draw?" and "I never resign!" and "I hate rude people!"...also this seems a bit ironic in lieu of all the contributions made by a CM to this one, not to mention me (although I am naturally too modest to do so).
I wouldn't usually play 4 games with someone who I disliked, so either I'm completely missing your sense of humour tonight or you have a problem with me now?!
Allow me to (re)introduce myself: I used to be known as OmarCayenne/tonydal...at your (dis)service.

Wow, just Wow. :)
The least you could do is insult the USA a bit the way I did with Scotland...instead of getting all offended & stuff like all those "civilized" wussy boys do...

Well okay, maybe you're right to some degree. But still, you just don't see this sort of garbage on other chess-related websites; it's merely a trademark of Chess.com, and it MUST be turning off quite a few titled players.

Points are, as you know, counted materially.
If they were counted positionally or tactically...how would you do that?
Say, spammer, for a fellow who's announced he can't be bothered with me any more, you sure do seem to have me stuck on your mind.
How many titled players are gonna be hanging around fielding goofy questions when they could (at the very least) probably be charging money to do so? And I for one think "this sort of garbage" is rather fun, and a prime draw to the site. Okay, maybe this one did get a bit vituperative in places, but it's still better than the usual walls of text from Vulcans that you see elsewhere. And realistically, how many of these kinds of questions can you take before you're all talked out? Eventually I think one has to have recourse to those two inexhaustible fields: humor and blood-letting. Chessplayers traditionally tend to be a bit "humor-challenged" (okay, they're joke retards) but they generally seem ready to take a few swings at each other, even if the results usually look about as spastic as two baseball pitchers getting into a fistfight.

Aha! Somebody else who thinks they're fun to watch.
