Actually, as a "Jewy" kid growing up, I ate my fair share of horse meat so I guess chess must be fine too.

I'm not Jewish, so perhaps I don't understand the term, Kosher, properly. I thought it referred to food, either type (ie beef vs pork) or blessed by a Rabbi (ie WIne, Salt). And, I am familiar with the saying, "That's not Kosher." So, it would seem to me chess is probably kosher, unless the pieces or board are made of something "non-kosher." Shalom!
