Yes, two knights can checkmate.
But two knights can't force a checkmate (two bishops can, two rooks can).
For example black is checkmated but it was not forced to move into the corner.

I really think bishops are better than knight not only that you can't checkmate with 2 knights but they can travel much faster and better. It is possible to get checkmate with 2 knights but is it even possible to get it into checkmate with no cheats? The position below is obviously checkmate for black but I don't think it is even possible to get into a weird as heck position like this.
