I disagree. He plays every day. I suppose his Intuition has a lot to do with his skill but he also has had to develop enormous calculating abilities, or what bobby fischer had to develop, which is called Eidetic Imagery. Hownelse to you beat 30 people while blindfolded?
Is Magnus Carlsen the luckiest guy in the world?

No .. He is not lucky .. He is good .. Very good ... When you are very good it might seem you are lucky but luck also goes to the good , the hard working and the brave .

He was just a 2000+ but became a 2600+ very soon. People like kasparov and fischer were hardworking but to my knowledge this guy is not so hardworking...

just got a chance and he used it. Thats the truth.. if we could somehow play attacking chess with him,we might win in a simul ;)

How many games of chess do you think go through the mind of a GM when they play chess? 4? 6? 10? In a simul, a GM or any other titled player can and does think about each and every move in his or her game of chess. They practice for hours upon hours a day 7 days a week. Preparing for competition. Nobody knows dedication like GM's do. GM's and my friend.

“A good player is always lucky.” (Perhaps never said by Capablanca, but attributed to him. He said that luck favored him during the prize awards at Nottingham in 1936)

It could be that he just makes random moves but they happen to be good. Just like a monkey could recite Shakespeare by typing randomly on a typewriter.
But it's very unlikely.

Carlsen is touched by a rare human trait known as GENIUS. So was Capablanca. So was Mozart, Newton, Leonardo. They were BORN with it, whether they worked to develop their talents or not, they inherited gifts the rest of us just do not have. Lucky guys, but industrious enough to not let their gifts rot on the vine. Such a one is Carlsen.

Hahaha... You are right guyz

Talking about luck... caissa blesses the best man. Lets see if she helps Carlsen defend his title this year.. And JDA you made me LOL

Gary Player, the champion South African golfer of the 1960s and 70s, was playing in a tournament. He holed yet another long shot and an opponent turned to him and said, "Gee, you're lucky." Player replied, "Yes, and the more I practise the luckier I get." Do you think it could be a similar principle with Carlsen?

The man wears the mark of the Devil on his hand and his forehead. No one gets that far in chess except by riding on the shoulders of the Dark Prince.

No, Magnus is not the luckiest man alive. That title shifts to anyone who's getting married soon.
I don't know why, but it's a given fact.
HAHA*cough* LOL

The only given fact is that some people can pick-up a trap as their own even though it is a well known truth that the trap is from a certain book. The other given fact is that they are as per talent far out as to be considered of the Magnitude of Carlsen. The traps are not their own traps, as everything else that goes with the given brand.
He wins almost everything with his calm and grinding style. But every chess player has some luck and he seems to have large chunk of it... what do you think?
