If someone can get a respectable 100 in tactics, what do most say?
Is ratism increasing here on Chess.com?
Ratism refers to the prejudice, discrimination, or antagonism directed against people based on the belief that one's own chess rating is superior than the other.
Post #2 of this thread shows ratist attacks on the OP who is rated 1500 by a 1900 player which raises the question of whether or not such incidents are becoming more and more frequent. While this attack was very blatant, members of chess.com have uncovered more subtle examples of ratism from higher rated players in numerous forum posts
That brings us to our question. Is ratism really on the rise in Chess.com, if so, what can we do to stop it?
Ratism? Is that what they are teaching you in India? No wonder your IQ is so low.

If a person judges a person's value by his or her rating, then yes, there's ratism going on. If a person judges a person's chess knowledge by his or her rating, then... what's the problem?
But that's clearly not what's happening here.
I 1500-rated player complained because his opponent kept spamming him with incessant draw offers. A higher rated player responded by saying "Wow a 1500 player naming and shaming, 1 you can’t do that on here, 2 you not in a position or have the ability to be criticising others. Maybe a little more class on your part would help your game. "
This has nothing to do with ratism, the higher-rated player was simply being an obnoxious dick! When we're discussing a chess position or opening variation, I naturally give more weight to the opinion of higher rated player. That's just common sense. But once you get away from technical chess matters, all that changes.
Agreed.

LoL English humour. It's also increasing here on chess.com.

and I thought chess players had no sense of humor!
sadly, OP is absolutely serious.

Have you seen his other threads?

But who will address the intersectionality of openingynism and ratism underscoring the hypocrisy of the OP's irrational hatred of the Queen's Gambit?

A so-called "ratist" is just a jerk with an inferiority complex that gets off by hurling insults at players with a lower rating to compensate for their teensy weensy tiny little ego.
Oh come on. You were going to say something else but you changed it to ego.

I have a dream. That one day this forum will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men (and the few woman lurkers) are rated differently but their opinions weigh the same. Zero, because that´s how much weigh opinions have.

This guy's a glutton for punishment.

How about openism, midgamism and endgamism??? and....just curious is it pronounced like "rat-ism" or "rate-ism"???

Interesting, the OP rates pretty high on blitz, bullet, 3-check, Bughouse and King of the Hill -- everything except actual chess.
xD Im dying.

Yes, imho it would be more appropriate to speak about elitism (at least, this notion exists). According to the top definition in the Urban Dictionary, ratism is the belief in a "deity" called Rat:
