On a serious note: my first guess would be that it might have something to do with javascript if it's only the games:
Did you recently update your browser or install a plugin to block javascript?
If so: there's your answer.
If not: it might be internet connection problems.
My advice would be to first try another browser to see if it makes a difference: (firefox/chrome etc.) After this you might want to try updating java..
my javascript is fine on other sites except this one. i was playing 12 hours ago just fine. what do you mean update java? i thought this site runs on flash. not java
I have the same issue - The loading of the game never completes. Behavior began today. Using IE.
No flash, no javascript. You need JRE installed (32-bit on 32-bit browser, or 64-bit on 64-bit one) and doing something about that:

yeah i knew it wasnt just me. im using the same browser and connection as 12 hours ago. its chess.com not us. i caint even get the tactics trainer to work
TheHeight, you are not alone. I just tried to play on live chess and got this as a result:
It hangs on this screen and the little loading square just spins. It happens to me both in Firefox and Chrome even with all the extensions/add-ons disabled.
Update: It looks like this only happens to me when I'm using one specific VPN server, otherwise live chess works fine for me. Strange.

Pings at ~270 ms and plenty of bandwidth. I don't think that is the issue.
This site doesn't have a very good server. Try one that is not browser based.
