Is there a way to get rid of online chess addiction?

I went back to old childhood interests that take me to the woods. Now, I spend as much time at the shooting range getting ready for hunting season as I do playing online blitz.
But don't you think it is crime to do animal hunting.
No. Hunting is essential to management of wildlife. No one who eats meat can eschew hunting without contradiction.

It's a shame that such a serious topic turned into a troll thread. Addictions are real, including online chess.
The problem is it's more convenient than playing over the board. If you are a serious player, then you will find that most casual players know how to play, but don't play often enough to reach your level. In order to find good opponents, you either need to start playing in tournaments or resort to online chess. If you want to stop playing online chess, maybe start signing up for tournaments

No trolling, we are exchanging ideas on how to deal with it

I play chess to get rid of my online gambling addiction I wouldn't know how broken I would be if I hadn't found chess

Drinking alcohol turns my chess game to shit. Even after one beer the thought of playing a game and making some infuriating blunder keeps me from playing. The earlier I start drinking, the sooner I stop playing. So my advice is to drink, early and often.

I know one way of curing this addiction. It involves a trip to the garden shed to grab the club hammer. I will let you try & guess the rest for now

I generally like joking around, but to be frank, it seems that for some folk, online chess is an addiction after reading all this thread.
In more general terms it may apply to gaming of any sort.

The key is moderation. A few drinks, a few games of chess, a few wild animals.
Having a wife sent me to online chess addiction, she nags a bit that Aunt Sally!😉
