You have to define “game” and “the best” in your question if you want to get a good answer.
I don’t think chess is the best game on earth if you consider all possible games on earth.
If you only look at games where someone sits at the desk and plays with something then I’d say some video games can be better than chess based on that criteria.
If we only pick from analog board games that are traditional, chess may be best or one of the best. Many people would say Go is much better than chess.

What do u mean by best? Most enjoyable? If so that is subjective, impossible to answer.
