Hello, I m thinking how should I play against IV/III category players? I m only IV and want to get III, even II in long future :)
Study lots of tactics, learn basic strategic concepts and work on your endgame.

I think he is referring to player strength categoriess. They have this in Russia and many other countries. It's like a set of brackets in which players are categorized based on their wins and losses. I believe this was needed much more before the ratings we use now we're introduced. Also it's done for chess classes and some tournaments. That makes it easier to more generally estimate how strong or weak a player is and pair players as needed. There should be 5 grades/classes players can fall under. Forgot which is the lowest and which is highest. I think lower number is weakest players. And five would be for the very strong players
@Drawgood: Thanks for the explanation. Think you have the class order reversed though. OP said he was only 4 but is aiming for 3 or 2.

Yes the USCF has letter sections similar, A being below expert level then b,c,d, etc. I forget the lowest letter, it might be I or j. As for how you should play against them, treat each game the same- play the best moves you can find, try to open the game and steer towards familiar positions, and try to win! Then review the game afterwards and look for improvements.
