Jeremy Silman has passed away, aged 69.

Silman was hands down my favourite chess author, many a night I spent reading through his books with my chessboard, absorbing and relaxing at the same time. I still have his endgame book on the go.

Jeremy was my favorite too. When I studied chess I bought about 4 of his books.

My next chess book may now need to be his recent memoir "Silman's Chess Odyssey".

For those complaining about the shortcomings of chess.com/news, where would you recommend going these days for good chess news?

His DVD chess series from the Great Courses is a must have. Also his last book "CHESS ODYSSEY" is a rip roaring riot. May I say, Jeremy is to chess what Bob Hope was to golf. They should have a Jeremy Silman memorial chess tournamnet in Lone Pine, CA. 💖
