Don't 1000 players know better than to play 3. d3???
Just Broke a Massive Rating Barrier!

Anyone ever see that scene in 'Monty Python's The Meaning Of Life' where the teachers (full-grown, adult men) are quite happy with and proud of themselves after they trounce the students (children of maybe 10 or 11 years) in a rugby match?
Not sure why i'm reminded of that scene after reading this post...

I take back anything positive I was foolish enough to put forth. Obviously, chess is only meant to be a mockery of by your trolling mentality. Little hope of ever growing up.

Is quite a shame you realize cherub ? You'll tire soon enough of this nonsense. Quit chess all together when you come to realize you're just an average player. Better than 50 percent, but getting whooped by the big boys who understand and respect the game.

I think almost all chess players have experience with rating "barriers", or if those barriers are very tough to get through, "plateaus". These rating barriers, and in worse cases, plateaus, are cause for a lot of suffering amongst improving chess players.
However, with great pain, comes great joy.
I am ecstatic to announce that I, personally, have just broken through arguably the toughest rating barrier in chess: the 1100 barrier.
It's very easy, almost effortless, for one to be 1000. Just don't hang pieces. But at the 1100 level, many many more factors come into play: you need much stronger positional understanding, since you can't just make random moves, you need a very good tactical eye, since 1100s no longer drop pieces (too often), and also you need a deep understanding of openings, at least up to 10 full half-moves.
All this makes the 1100 rating barrier very tough to break, but I have done it finally!
Here's the game, for any who are interested.
