Kasparov for FIDE Presidency!

Any idea what happened today in Chennai with Kasparov ? At the press conference after round 4 the journalists were asking Anand why he requested that Kasparov may not be seated in the first row. Even a FIDE vice president was involved in that incident. Also Carlsen tried to not say anything about Kasparov, when asked. Anastasia Karlovich even wanted to forbid that topic but then allowed it when the journalists were insistant.

It starts at 1:35:50 here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WmaKaH77RCE

So what exactly did happen ? Another Kasparov drama ?

You think the current president is better? I don't think there's gonna be third alternative.

I cannot imagine the current president being any worse. FIDE is still just one organization, after all. Putting him one up on Garry already.

Yeah what was the deal?  Did Anand's team ask that Kasparov not be in the first row?  Was Kasparov treated disrepectfully when he arrived?

Not really sure, Bullwhip. But I do know that the current FIDE presidemt is an admitted alien abductee. So apparently the entry requirements are pretty low.

Kasparov is a great chess player probably the best ther ever was. but as a leader i have doubts in his credibility.  The GMA, PCA organizations he did under his leadership are now by gones. Plus those whom he thought supported him in his fight agianst his country Governmentleadership where gone. He doesnt abide by his words either. When SHirov defeated Kramnik for the right to challenge him, what did he do?.

TYR1S

I would vote for him.

This old interview speaks volumes imo.

He comes across better than Ilyumzhinov however you look at it.

Have no illusions how he is going to get the money for his changes.

From http://kasparov2014.com/2013/10/22/the-change-we-need-interview-of-garry-kasparov-on-fide-presidency-run/

 Kasparov said:
It’s already written in our policy document, is to turn FIDE into a giant social network. [...] Using modern technology to actually bring together millions of people in a database will help eventually even a smaller federation. If we have this massive database, that’s definitely going to be very attractive for sponsors.

Basically, by selling our personal information.

And from http://kasparov2014.com/, point number 4 under his six winning moves says:

Kasparov said:
A universal rating system will include every game of chess played on the planet, from world championship matches to online blitz. It will serve as a portal that unites tens of millions of players and will become an attractive advertising and sponsorship asset.

Basically, if you are going to play chess, your personal information is to be put online and sold by FIDE.

Interesting remarks!
