I can't imagine chess without lasers now
Lasers in chess

I was wondering if anyone could point me to a site that discusses laser use in a chess variant. If someone ever created such a variant I would be sure to buy it and maybe even invest in the company.
Please, no trolling or humorless mods will shut down the thread. Just serious replies on chess variants that employ lasers, and/or sharks.
Thanks in anticipation of your helpful feedback.

Still, I couldn't help wondering if a taser couldn't be incorporated into the laser to give the game a little extra umph!
Already under consideration here ... chesscom-warning-system.
The UK police mislaid a taser recently. It was probably picked up by a chess enthusiast.

I just keep having these nightmares about lynch mobs of baboons with acnes evaporating my e-pawn with a laser someplace in Mongolia.
wow, khet is pretty close to what I was thinking! But this other suggestion - "Billichess" - is really closer, since it actually has both lasers AND chess.

Now just to find the creator of this amazing game.
Maybe more importantly for now, is playing bullet billichess silly or not? I would say as long as it follows the general billichess rules of having lasers, joker knights and lasermate, then it would be real billichess, and thus downright silly, by definition. I am not sure if the shark expansion pack would change this dynamic; I am just talking about the basic rules here.
I am also very glad to see that this thread was not overrun by a herd of baboons. Thanks to all who have contributed so far!
Syrup is to pancakes what a laser is to chess
