I don't think they teach Latin in the USA which is why their general grammar is so piss-poor.

It is offered in some schools. I took 3 years but I don't think it helped me any with grammar. I also don't remember as much as I probably should Embarassed

I am trying to learn Latin and Italian but it isn't easy.

Umm...Chess based on Latin?  Romans inventing chess?  Where are you getting this?  Sicilian=Brazil?  Is this some kind of Poe or something?

Darn it, google translate can't do Latin - but it IS able to auto detect. So hopefully sometime soon. Otherwise I'm totally in the dark about post #15

 It translates to:

How much wood can woodchuck chuchk if a woodchuck could chuck wood.

The official motto of the City of Chicago is "u es mea" which means "Where's mine!"

'ubi es mea' is the correct latinate form.  Where is mine presumably referring to the corruption inherent in Chigago's politics

CAESAR VIR MEUS EST.

Why aren't you guys posting your Latin in capitals?

Maybe better is

CAESARVIRMEUSEST

They taught Spanish, French, Latin, Greek, and Japanese at my school.  But no German.  Nuts.

Beast, stop harassing America.  I've been to the UK, you don't have anything special over there.

I think America can take a bit of ribbing.  It has a sense of humour look at their last President.

There is no letter 'J' in latin so iam is the correct word

LordJones3rd

Caesar adsum iam forte.

Brutus aderat.

Caesar sic in omnibus.

Brutus in isat.

An archeologist was on a dig, somewhere in Italy.  He eventually came across a round, metallic-type object, on which was engraved the somewhat Latinised inscription :

Iti sapis potanda tinone...

pawnzischeme

In pari delicto potier est conditio defendentis

Noli turbare circuros meos

then slash his head off

O nobili, demis trux

In the public schools in the USA they barely teach English thanks in part to the teacher's unions.

Teaching a second language, especially an extinct one, would be difficult to justify spending money on when most dollars spent on schools go down the toilet anyway.

Lolz, what?
