Lisa Lane and Joe Millionaire

I found this in The Journal News out of White Plains, NY., Feb. 23, 2003.  It's not directly chess-related other than Lisa Lane is a multi US Women's Champion title holder.  I don't know Joe Millionaire but the whole thing sounds as bizarre as it is fascinating.

WOW !  What a find. Thanks so much, Batgirl.

This is the rest of the story, more or less accurate, as far as I can find out: At some point Lisa Lane closed the store in Carmel and opened a gift shop in Pawley, NY, called "Earth Lore Gems and Minerals." Later, she closed that location and moved it to Kent, CT. In 2015, she closed the Kent store and retired from the retail business.

Thanks @Zenrider

The now-defunct "Earth Lore: gems and minerals" website says this:

Earth Lore began life in the early 1980s as a workshop for herbal medicine classes at Amber Waves of Grain, Putnam County's first natural food store in the hamlet of Carmel, N. Y. It then evolved into a gemstone and mineral shop in Pawling, NY, in 2005. After 7 years, it outgrew that venue and made the move to Kent, CT.
It 's now part of the Kent Town Center on Main Street, in a lovely two-building cluster of shops and salons that sell antiques, clothing, art objects and much more.
Kent 's Main Street is also Connecticut's famous Route 7, which runs through the beautiful countryside of Litchfield County, near picturesque towns such as Sherman, Lakeville, Gaylordsville, Sharon, Cornwall Bridge, Salisbury, New Milford, Warren, Falls Village, and Roxbury.
The village of Kent is a magnet for sightseers, who come to visit its art galleries, restaurants, and bookstores, as well as the fascinating Antique Machinery and Mining Museum. The Housatonic River is a favored destination for picnic-ers and flyfishermen.
The proprietor of Earth Lore is Lisa Lane Hickey, whose expertise extends---not only to gemstones, minerals, fossils and crystals (some of them millions of years old)---but to unusual and rare items of home décor, which she chooses on farflung buying trips. (Lisa, by the way, was several times the United States women's chess champion.) Pay a visit to Earth Lore, and as one patron put it, 'Walk into a world of wonder.'"

I had posted this in the forums here some time ago about Lisa Lane's life in 1972:  https://www.chess.com/forum/view/general/lisa-lane-1972

Additionally, here's another article on "Amber Waves of Grain" (from the White Plains NY,  Journal News, 9/17/2002:
