in chess.com i totaly disagree wid the procedures of online chess.chess is a head 2 head btle..in onl9 u hav a analysis board.,well ur opponent made a tricky move?? Think for 3 days. No problm.but in Live no analysis board.,presencse of time presure u may make an inattentive move.what can change the course of a match. The same happens in MASTER LEVEL TOURNEYS.so i think Live chess is far far competetive than online.WHATS UR OPINION??

Online chess cannot be compared with OTB Chess.  Earlier days, there used to be correspondence chess which used to be played through mails... online chess is a variation of that....

If what you say is correct, then why people lost their matches online?  At a particular stage of game, each player will have a capacity to understand the game to some extent ... depending on that level (presumption is that you are not taking any external assistance), one will according to his capacity.

It is true that if you are used to analysis board, you will definitely face problems in OTB tournaments.  As far as possible, it is better to visualise the game in brain rather than depending on analysis board if you want to become a tournament player.

I want to see comments of experienced players on this.

Shorter time control creates more mistakes and more mistakes means less draws generally speaking. While I agree live chess is more wild I think online chess feels more epic. But no matter what time control we use there will always be mistakes, even for the best player in the world and the best computer in the world. But if we talk competitive I would say otb with at least 2 hours/player is the biggest battle of minds. But as that wasn't an option I stick with online chess, because not many peaple play 1 live chess game over an our.

I think that live chess is the better of the two since it depicts real chess time while in online chess you have for example 1 or 3 days to thinkyour move which does not even happen in classical games which are the slowest(except the Correspondance chess)

Super-Blitzkrieg

In Live Games there are tons of mistakes and also creativities...

  1. It's fast so u can easily follow ur ideas of mating in the game, taking advantages of those.
  2. But, of course, you may do some serious mistakes that cost u the games, but it's temporalty, winning the next games make u not to care about that any more.
  3. u can gain lots of expereince by playing many many games in a short period.

OTB

  1. It's good to examin what u've been learning, I personaly dont use any other engines except my Brain. If u do, tell me how are u gonna face an opponent in a real life with 90 minutes left...
  2. Thinking make u to be a logical and able to consentrate...after all chess is not sth that u could play without thinking and just for fun.

I cant think about anything else...hope helped!.

Nothing can be said in this regard.

Different tastes.

Different intentions

Different egos

Different presumptions,

Different people

Different thoughts.

Just enjoy the moments.
