Locked Out of My Main Account "kingdasher" – Diamond Member – No Access or Support

Just to point something else out:

Isn’t it strange that both the @kingdasher account and the account I’m using now (@Kellej2) show:

No active games
No friends
And that @kingdasher hasn’t been online since July 4th—the exact date this @Kellej2 account was created?
Both accounts also show the same country—Ireland—which further confirms they’re linked to me. The real account is clearly @kingdasher, which I had been using daily for 15 years, with a Diamond membership, active games, and many friends—all of which are now missing.

This isn’t just a coincidence. It strongly suggests that the system created a new account when I tried to log in, and in doing so, left me locked out of the original.

I hope someone at Support will look at this more closely.

Hi @magipi — no, I don’t think anyone hacked anything or switched names.

What I believe happened is this:

On July 4th, I was suddenly logged out of my main account, @kingdasher, which I’ve used for over 15 years. I tried to log back in using my Google account, and instead of taking me back to kingdasher, the system created a new account — this one: @Kellej2 — using the same email address.

Since then:

I’ve been locked out of kingdasher
This new account was created automatically, with no games, no friends
Kingdasher shows as inactive since July 4th, and now also has no friends or games — even though it had many before
Both accounts show the same country (Ireland)
So it seems like the system misfired during login, didn’t link the identity correctly, and now I can’t get back into the real account.

No hacking, no name swap — just a very frustrating technical issue that I haven’t been able to resolve through the bot or normal support channels.

Thanks for asking — it’s a strange one, I agree.

Best regards,
Jerry

Hi @Cwsinclair — I agree, it really doesn’t make sense on the surface.

That’s why I’ve been trying to explain it clearly here — the system seems to have created a new account (@Kellej2) when I tried to log back into my original one (@kingdasher, which I had for over 15 years). Now I can’t access kingdasher at all, and both accounts are showing empty — no friends, no games, and no history — even though kingdasher was fully active just before this happened.

It’s as if the system detached the identity from the old account when the new one was created. Definitely not something a user could cause manually.

Thanks for chiming in — I’m hoping Support can look into it properly soon.

Hi @Cwsinclair — I’ve considered that, but I don’t think hacking explains what happened.

There were no signs of suspicious activity — no games played, no profile changes, and no login alerts. The account @kingdasher just suddenly became inaccessible on July 4th, and when I tried to log in via Google (which was linked to my email), it created a brand-new account (@Kellej2) instead of logging me into the original.

Now:

Both accounts show the same country (Ireland)
@kingdasher hasn’t been online since the day @Kellej2 was created
And both have no games or friends — even though kingdasher had many before
It looks much more like a login identity error or system glitch, not a takeover. Just a frustrating technical problem I haven’t been able to resolve through support.

Thanks for your thoughts though — it is a weird one.

Man that’s rough

Kellej2

Thanks @Mathnerd2015 — yeah, it’s been really frustrating.

I’ve had that account for over 15 years, with a Diamond membership and loads of games and history—and then suddenly got locked out on July 4th, and haven’t been able to get any real help since. I’m just hoping someone at Support can finally help me get back in.

Appreciate you taking the time to say something.

Best regards,
Jerry

Oh man. What's wierd is that your account shows opened in 2009 and has only game in it. Like it took joining date from your old account and attached to the current one

And all games from old account also wiped. I wonder why there is a single achievement in the old kingdasher account "connected to Facebook account".

This something hacker did?

This seems like a hacker's work... I REALLY want to help, but I dont know how! tear

As it was already pointed out, it's the kingdasher account that was created 8 days ago, and it's the kelley2 account that was created in 2009. And neither of them has any previous activity or membership or anything. Just click on them and see for yourself.

One thing is for sure: nobody on the forums can help. Trying to contact support is the only way, and that's next to impossible nowadays.

I agree

Remember, you can always stop payments by contacting your bank. That would certainly stop chess.com from taking money for an account you cannot access, although it won't solve your login issues...

Mathnerd2015

But I mean what can I do to help (support ignores our complaints)

Arush_135

Why dont you write an email to chess.com
Usually they might respond as a bot but they will give you access to the main chess.com email

Arush_135

@Evergreen_Warrior he is a staff message him maybe he can do something

Arush_135

https://www.chess.com/club/help-and-support this is a club

justbefair

I am still trying to get Support's attention.

There is no Support email at this time

Hi @magipi — no, nothing like that. There was no hacking and no name-switching.

What happened is:
On July 4th, I was suddenly logged out of my real account, @kingdasher (which I had for over 15 years). When I tried to log back in using Google, the system created this new account (@Kellej2) using the same email—and I’ve been locked out of @kingdasher ever since.

Now both accounts show no games, no friends, and the same country.
@kingdasher hasn’t been active since the exact moment this one was created.

It’s not a name mix-up—it’s most likely a login identity conflict that’s broken access to my real account.

justbefair

I keep thinking that if you have had an account for 15 years, there must be some secondary proof available. Perhaps an an old email from Chess.com? A game pgn that you saved that we could look at the other name and see if the game is still in the database? A club you were an active member of?

HonestHufflepuff

This sounds like a spam post to get attention, to be honest. The facts don’t add up. The OP is posting on a account much older, and the kingdasher account has NOTHING.
