Is this guy legit or not? He goes around claiming he is better than every single person who plays chess on earth except for carlsen (lol). Yet he has never played a single human in over a decade (check his posts if you don’t believe me). Isn’t he kind of ridiculous?

Avatar of pretzel2

he claims to be "3000" strength whatever that means.

There are none, at least not in the last 12 years...

All over the thread The Secret of Chess. It's kind of hard to miss.

Absolutely. The problem isn't his credibility (he's never had any), it's that he won't ever shut up, no matter how thoroughly you discredit him.

He takes common chess principles, and attaches computer evaluations to them.  None of which will make you a better/stronger player.

Will this book appeal to some?  Yes...those that think it will b a "Get the GM title overnight" method of studying, and those that love to spew engine analysis.

He has a 3000+ post thread signifying next to nothing.  Now you guys are starting yet another thread on same.  Perhaps you should consider saying nothing, which would result in (only) sock-puppets and newbies contributing to his ongoing foolishness.

He want's FREE publicity and more "buzz" for his book -- and that's what you are giving him, unfortunately.

Any patzer with an engine can claim anything these days.

The only claims worth recognizing are those earned through official OTB competitions.

True, and that's what I've been showing for a long time: that none of his ideas are new, only the useless evaluations and terms.

And if people want to throw their money away, they should be able to.

Yep!

How many accounts here have been opened by people that NEVER play here, post games from "other unnamed sites", and, or against "titled players" claiming nothing but playing/studying engines has made them a furture world champion/GM/IM/Title player.

He also backs down from any challenges he receives. If truly believed in his book and what he says (especially when he says he's the strongest player) then he would accept these challenges. He also won't play OTB either due to a bunch of lame excuses, he's only hindering himself and the sales of his book by not doing so.

Yes, but I think we would all prefer that Lyudmil doesn't get any of that money.

Indeed, Freedom to Shop.  You can thank Milton Friedman and company for that body of ideas.

Come off it.  You are hawking a similar set of ideas on your website, @Chesster.

My point is that more Yaking about HIM, in this thread is just more free buzz, and he loves it.  Just UNPLUG from this thread, and let others be snookered.

You really have no effective choice -- except to blather on about how your services are "good," while his services are questionable.  End of Story.

If he was legit, it would take him just a few months to prove his claims, and his book would make him rich.

Just win one or two strong open tournaments as a relative nobody and you're on everyones radar.
