Think first, move later. Analyse your games and focus on what made you do the silly move and why you did not choose a better one. What would make you take a better decision in the same position next time?
Good luck!

You're in good company, because I looked at Capablanca and Rubinstein games today and found some mistakes. Rubinstein played a winning sacrifice but one of his follow up moves handed white equality... and he still managed to defeat Euwe (white in that game). He won using the Nimzo-Sicilian, which is considered dubious today.
Hi there
I have playing chess more often recently, and I have a wish to improve my game. One thing I do however is that I make silly mistakes and I often overlook the good moves. I even overlooked a mate in one today, which ended in a draw for me. Sometimes I do silly blunders as well. I have been trying to avoid it, some games go better than others, but still they come way too often.
What can I do to improve this?
