Master Player almost loses and resigns

I was playing against someone that lives in america and then when I had my knight right where it was obviously gonna take the queen and the guy moves the pawn instead!
I was so shocked I took his queen and after that I was taking pieces from him left and right! Then I took all his pieces except for the king and three pawns! Before he could even move he.... resigned. I was so shocked that a Master Player loses to a beginner.
