Moderator Helper

So I have already asked about under-18s being moderators (my dream job), so I have a proposal.

There are more kids online all the time than adults. Why not take advantage of that?

I propose that there be a new role called a moderator helper. I do not know exactly what powers a moderator gets. I assume they can mute and delete stuff, but adults have real jobs because moderators do not get paid. They can have people who are trustworthy and pass tests have stronger communication with staff.

People like me are on the chess.com social side 3-4 hours a day! I see so much stuff that gets ignored. This is a problem that needs to be dealt with. SO that way, chess.com doesnt get in trouble legally, we can say that you're not telling us to look for bad things, but IF we see something, we can report it, and it will get special attention. We also get a label in our account 😏.

I do not think we should get more powers because I feel like kids will take advantage of this.

This is something that should be given to ensure people. Who passes the tests? It should also be made notice that it is not illegal in any way as long as the minor doesnt SIGN ANYTHING and doesnt get paid!

I like your idea it would be nice if some of the problems got resolved instead of ignored .

and we definitely should not get more powers because the majority of kids definitely would take advantage of that

it is interesting but there are a lot of problems that might happen from this

This is actually a good idea.

Yes and I think the tests should be pretty decently hard to filter out the bad kids.

All members have the ability to report things.

Make a suggestion and it could be checked out

Well there might be a certain issue with this, how are we supposed to know if they are indeed people that we can trust, it'd be pretty hard to believe that some kids on this platform is actually going to help out and What kind of system are we even talking about? You also have to know that kids have to go to school and adults normally have a job that they do, So there is going to be some issues involved

All of them I can fix.

  1. Tests and close examination beforehand. Also if they did turn out not trustworthy they dont have to many powers anyway
  2. Kids are online alot more then adults so when they are online and they see something they have a stronger voice with reporting

Unless you're a moderator all you have is the ability to report. So except for the special recognition you mentioned. How will your report be any different from anyone else's?

Send it to the site's official suggestion box

Background has nothing to do with my idea.

Avatar of LieutenantFrankColumbo

So you want kids under 18 with no background check to be able to help? That would will end poorly.
